Holistic Living Services

Holistic health integrative homecare massage        We put heart into the work our hands do

SAGE's Integrative Health Services are an extension of home care services currently being provided by our HomeCare team.

Holistic Living Services were developed as an additional support service to help our clients age in place comfortably, to decrease feelings of isolation, and help achieve mind/body balance.

All Holistic Living Services are provided by a certified massage therapist or our nurse massage therapist. Full body massage services require a physician’s approval. For our HomeCare clients, the Certified Home Health Aide may be taught to provide Hand/Foot Massage if preferred. The services are provided in thirty minute increments, while chair massage is provided in increments of fifteen minutes. During the initial visit the practitioner will perform a baseline assessment at which time visit frequency may be determined. Fees for services available upon request. For clients who receive HomeCare services, the Certified Home Health Aide may be taught to provide Hand/Foot Massages as requested.

Seniors who take part in the Holistic Living Services can achieve these benefits:

Home Health Aide of the Year 2010
Wende Holmes

Wende Holmes became a Home Health Aide with SAGE after taking care of her own elderly family members. She initially became a home health aide in 1994 and then renewed her HHA license in 2006 with SAGE. She loves her work, and it shows. She was recently recognized as SAGE’s HomeHealth Aide of the Year for 2010.

“What’s remarkable about Wende,” explains Ellisa Lee, HomeCare Director of Nursing, “is that she suffers from severe joint pain herself, but she is always so pleasant, never complains and has been known to change her own doctor’s appointments if there is no health aide coverage.”

Wende’s current clients in Summit and Berkeley Heights have all said how impressed they are with her dependability and high level of care.  Actually, communication is what Wende loves the most about working as a home health aide for SAGE.

“I love the stories and learning all about the people I care for,” says Wende.  “Everyone’s background is so interesting and the clients enjoy sharing their lives with me as much as I enjoy learning about them. I get an education every day and the connection we make is very special.”

What Wende, along with the other HomeHealth Aides at SAGE enjoy about their work is the great joy they find in making people comfortable and safe while helping them to remain living in their own home.
